DIY Satellite Ground Station Workshop × Weather Engines
Who or what gains power from radio technology, satellite imagery and meteorological data?
On the occasion of the Weather Engines at Onassi Stegi, open-weather lead a two-day DIY Satellite Ground Station Workshop in Athens.
Workshop participants learned the basics of radio communication and built their functioning DIY Satellite Ground Stations to capture weather images from meteorological satellites. The workshop foregrounded feminist principles to frame discussion and create a space in which amateur radio technology could be reclaimed by people who have historically been be excluded or underrepresented in the craft.
